Help Mobile network State = Disconnect when Wifi Enabled = No Calls

s4fog

Lurker
So i'm on my second phone after thinking I had a bad phone, got another one and it's exactly the same. Am I the only one with this issue?

Phone Model = LG-D855 32gb / 3gb
Network = Virgin UK

So on both phones if the Wifi is turned on then the person calling get "Sorry the person you are calling is unavailable" Turn the wifi off and the call comes straight through.

When Wifi is turned on the Mobile network State switches to Disconnected, turn wifi off and it switches to connected.

About Phone >> Network >> Mobile network State = Disconnected

Anyone please have any ideas, I really like the phone but cannot keep it if I have to use it like this.

My US Verizon G3 says the same thing in settings, however I can make calls. Verizon stills uses the CDMA network to make calls, i believe, and has not switched over to voice over LTE i my area as far as I know. If you are in the UK I am assuming you are on GSM so not much of a help to you, I am.

This phone shows LTE transfer, the signal bars and wifi all at the same time.

hmm, thanks.

Looks like the mobile state disconnect is purely to do with the data connection state rather than connection to the actual phone network. Makes sense really as the wifi comes on and off the mobile data connects and disconnects.

Very frustrating.

what do you have listed under system select in the network settings?

Try toggling those settings. Of course again my US CDMA is quite different than yours. Verizon phones are generally unlocked in terms of using them on a GSM network, but if you have global or other settings try toggling back and forth.

Or have you tried toggling airplane mode? This a soft reset on the radios. It often helps me when I am stuck on the older verizon network and can't see LTE where I know I can get it.

Just throwing suggestions out there.

Well i'm not sure what I have done but it's working, hopefully for good. unfortunately I didn't really structure my testing to well and i'm yet to work out what actually fixed it.

What I can't understand is that I have had two out of the box that have done this but seem to be the only one with the issue.

FIX: Disable the Wi-Fi Calling setting. On my Galaxy Avant, it's under "More Networks". Could be under the Wi-Fi setting on yours. Disable it and it won't disconnect your mobile network when you have wifi enabled.
