Mobile reception.

I have 2 android phones and a tablet which I use at home.

One of the phones and the tablet receive the mobile signal well enough to be usable, but the second phone antenna appears to be a lot weaker and cannot pick up a strong enough signal to make or receive calls or texts.

I have tried various apps in the forlorn hope that one may help - but they don't.

Does anyone know of any way to physically improve the antenna reception?

Maybe look at getting a femtocell? Not all carriers supply them though.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike -
The provider I use in turn uses the facilities of a carrier which has a device for use with the router/broadband, but unfortunately it only works with the carriers phone numbers and not my providers - and I don't want to change carriers as I get a pretty good deal from them.

I was considering one of these but there are mixed reports about them being ineffective/effective.

I also seem to recall seeing an article about someone who modified their phone and improved reception - but I can't find it now.
