(Solved by enigmadroid) Can we use the steps listed for the admire?

I got better than that. I have my framework-res.apk with the JB screen transitions
For DIY decompile framework-res.apk (I use apk multi tool)
go to /res/values/bools.xml
change the line with "blahblah AnimateScreenLights from true to false
save xml and close. (I use notepad++ on Windows or Geany on Linux)
compile apk, say yes to system apk, say yes to next question about reducing errors.
go to the keep folder and delete resources.arsc
press enter. When it says everything OK exit.
rename to framework-res.apk and push to device.

framework-res.apk

go ahead and try it

tell us how it goes...

but the first sentence says
"I did this on my Admire, stock rooted, but this will work on any device running Gingerbread. "

so i wouldn't try it...but feel free to test and let us know how it goes

I think theres some devs working on trying to figure it out. As far as I know no CRT off animation for ics yet

I did one already, http://androidforums.com/motion-4g-all-things-root/630857-does-work-motion.html

Are you sure you was able to decompile?how did you decompile the the framework? Its not even deodex, so it makes me wonder :hmmmm2:

Option 9 in apk multi tool. Odex doesn't seem to matter. I had it running on original framework and I did it on the one someone posted with JB anim baked in.

K so correct me if im wrong so the framework your posting up has the crt shutoff?

The one I'm using I got from mr.penut is 7.something mb. The one you posted is only 6 mb...? What gives?

Comment out the line which says
debug.sf.hw=1
Just like in Gingerbread.
I mean I have JB anim, or whatever one I want at the time and the CRT screen off animation.
Size doesn't matter, or at least that's what she said LOL!
And nothing gives, use it or not I don't really care. I was just answering your question.

Lmao did you just make that video haha that's awesome! So all I have to do is copy and past the framework res.apk?

You can have this screen-off animation using Screen Off and Lock. It's also nice because you turn the screen off by hitting the app icon, so you're not hitting the power button as much.
