Root [MOD]How To Stop USB Installation ~ Really Simple

Austrie

Android Expert
How to stop the never ending(for some) USB Installation pop up that happens each time you plug your phone into you computer/laptop. It's actually REALLY simple.

  1. !!!ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP!!!
  2. Get a file explorer that explores the phone with read and write access.(Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, Astro File Explorer, etc)
  3. Go to the ROOT of your phone(not in any folder), in Root Explorer this is the default starting point
  4. Go to Hidden folder
  5. Delete the Custom.ISO file
  6. Reboot Phone

so theoretically you could run a different ISO on there say.... and android tool set maybe adb, smali, apktool, and a few more..... just a thought...... I might try to do that...

LOL, remember how much the partition size of that driver. It is only 4.73 MB's.

PS: Punkmaxx your inbox is full...

You could make a bigger ISO and see if it will take it, but don't try to put to much stuff in it. Try to keep it low just incase, phone memory, not sure which memory though(ROM Memory?, System Memory?, User Data Memory?).

This might be away to put music and other stuff on your phone without SD Card.

FIX Reported working to eliminate the driver installation popup but you must reboot after removing the Custom.iso otherwise it won't take effect

Another interesting fact if you put you phone in "download mode" and plug it into a linux machine (i have ubuntu 11.04) you wil get Direct Access to all of your devices partitions. /data /hidden /system /MOBILE /cache /and even the "hidden partitions". Just a fun Fact:)

indeed but this might be a way to make an entire stock partition table backup or something like that....... just a thought
EDIT: working on that now...
Actually that was going to be my next thread, unless you want to handle it :(:o:D

I meant I was going to do [!!!Secret for now!!!], but the mobile driver is the download mode driver. So the thread I linked to already has all the partitions for download mode.

ADVANCED USERS ONLY *NIX environment needed
to save you some time if you didn't already know; to get a full partition backup (all tables, entire clone)

In download mode
Use this command in a linux terminal:
sudo dd if=/dev/sdb | gzip >/home/"user"/Triumph.gz (tested working)

my backup with a custom ROM and plenty of apps was about a 1.8GB image (975MB Gunzipped) so that will be all 7 or 8 partitions that get mounted

to restore: --Perma-Brick Danger--
zcat /home/"user"/Triumph.gz | dd of=/dev/sdb (not yet tested)

replace "user" with your username in your /home folder

No basic user will understand that is for Linux(ubuntu, xbuntu, etc) and in terminal, but this does say for advance user only.
