Help Modding Swype Colors

Hey team!

So I'm trying to adjust the color of the tail while using swype kb. I'm on a Galaxy Note SGH-i717, rooted, running OnlyOne Rom Beta5 Goldie. It's got the version of swype that has the orange tail (and orange is just not an appealing color to me, by any means, so it bugs me a lot).

I've followed these instructions:

Download HexEditor - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tuba.tools
Using HexEditor open: /data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod/lib/libSwypeCore.3.26.92.38303.so
Search for the hex value "00a2ff" (without the quotes)
It will find 2 entries, edit the second one with the hex color of your choice
Remember to enter the hex color backwards per 2 characters
Example: If you wanted to change the trace color to ICS blue, which is 33B5E5. You would change the default 00a2ff (orange) to E5 B5 33 (ICS blue)

I found those on XDA's site, and there were several people that replied saying it worked for them, but I'm still not able to get mine to change colors. Before you ask, yes, I did save the file when done editing it with HexEditor, and yes I did restart my keyboard, and even restarted the phone to see if that would help. But still, nope, nothing.

Any advice?
