Help Monster headphones - Inline remote not working

TheStand

Hi All

My XE is no longer recognising the remote on my Monster earphones. The play/skip track buttons are not working. I tested the headset on another phone and the buttons worked. So something has gone wrong on the phone.

I use power amp as my main music player, I've tried reinstalling it and fiddling with the headset options but still the remote doesn't work.

I've restarted the phone, taken the battery out etc - No luck!

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Many thanks

a quick search on google reveals that the monster buds dont work on a whole lot of devices unfortunately....

In addition to what you've done, I'd go into all apps/widgets involved, via the application manager, and clear cache and data, then reboot the device and start from scratch. Also:

Think back if you can to the last installation of an app or widget; it's possible that something you installed or reconfigured, maybe having little or nothing at all to do with the remote or player, is borking the system, most likely with a running service that interferes with the process of detecting the remote.

Cheers for your reply, I tried your recommendations and the remote now works!! Not sure exactly what change fixed it, but hey they work so I'm happy.
