Can Airdroid be used to transfer between phones, no computer involved? Does it generate its own WiFi?

No it doesn't generate it's own WiFi. But your phone can generate WiFi using hotspot function

That does work, just connect the other phone's browser to the IP address Airdroid gives for the phone's WiFi hotspot.

Are there any security concerns with Airdroid? Is it a big app? Can it be used for mirroring to a TV set?
