Help More than one problem with Tab

Lately it seems I've had nothing but problems with my tablet. My biggest problem is the 3G service just disappearing for no apparent reason, or it just stops responding. 3 times this week, twice today, at the worst times when I REALLY need it. I'm not paying for a device/service that doesnt work. I'm not having this issue with my phone, just the tablet.

Anyting I should try before striking the match?

Which tablet specifically?
Which OS?
Which carrier?
What are you doing when it stops working?
What program are you using at the time?
