More updates coming for the M8

I just read on Android Origins,
" HTC One M8 Android Lollipop 5.0 update to rollout within 90 days"
You can read the article at http://www.androidorigin.com/htc-one-m8-lollipop-update-android-5-0/. HTC has changed there update policy for the better. I wouldn't hold my breath yet for 5.0 because I also read a few days ago that we should be getting Android 4.4.4 very soon. That will give us new camera software to improve photos. Android Central has, " T-Mobile will roll out Eye Experience update for HTC One M8 Tuesday". See http://m.androidcentral.com/t-mobile-will-roll-out-eye-sw-update-htc-one-m8-tuesday for the details. We should be getting it soon.

Yeah, I read that the 4.4.4 update was for Eye models, the 4.4.3 update we have already has the 4.4.4 security fixes.

The Eye update for the M8 is really more focused on the Eye features if I got that right. Lol not sure.

5 ought to prove very interesting though.

The biggest thing I am looking forward to is the improved facial recognition. It it supposed to be a great improvement for device security and it's supposed to be much faster.

I think people don't want an eye experience. They want more mega pixels period.

Wrong! Only people who know nothing about taking photos properly want more megapixels.

If you want that you can get it on the E8, or HTC mini .... 13mp, and it's worse quality!

As is the M8 camera is better than the iphone 5s camera, I know, I've had one.

This is old news. HTC has 'promised' to frequently update their One series devices for at least two years after release with their HTC advantage. It gives you the message when you get the phone.

I got the 4.4.4 update this evening I think, I automatically turn off the Automatic update options when I get new phones now first thing so I actually had to physically check for the software update. I'm not installing it until I get home with some reliable WiFi though. The EYE experience sounds interesting.

Unless you want to crop...

More megapixels doesn't necessarily mean better photos but they can be cropped at least.

I installed the t-mobile 4.4.4 update last night and I really don't notice much difference. The M8 is such a beast to begin with unless they actually add some new programs there aren't many issues to address with a firmware update. None actually from my experience out the box.

I just got Kit Kat 4.4.4. While going thru it I remembered one other place to check
If you have access to Developers Options, you can check 2 things. First, is High Performance Mode. If turned on it could cause some quirky behavior. It made my keyboard overly sensitive. The other is USB debugging. If left on when not connected could also cause some quirks. Just s thought.
