More updates on the horizon

Ouch srsly?

No I got an email today asking for my participation in another OTA test, so there is more good stuff coming, but it's a secret so .... shut the f up and be looking for it.

And be nice dammit, I am a helpful dude round here, at least I try to be. Dang.
Dont worry, hes just one of those people.

I've taken the liberty of finding out for you and dug this up over at a post someone made at XDA:

Just got an email from motorola saying they were going to be releasing another pre-release software update. I sent it in as a tip to android central and someone responded saying that they believe it should be the HSUPA update.

heres the email:
Motorola ATRIX 4G user,

In the future there will be another update for the AT&T ATRIX 4G. We want to know if you'd like to participate in another pre-release opportunity. Please fill out the survey completely so we can confirm your interest. Failure to respond will may exclude you from this future test with AT&T ATRIX 4G. You can always sign-up again when we offer new opportunities.

Here is a link to the survey:

This link is uniquely tied to this survey and your email address. Please do not forward this message.

Thanks for your participation!

apparently they're rolling out emails to people to participate in a firmware update beta test

thanks for sharing though shalemail

sorry, I had to make you feel just a little more guilty. I'm done now :D

edit: no need to be so secretive, the cat was out of the bag already

we'll be behind ATT on this one for sure. Bell has been keeping conspicuously silent about HSUPA. They haven't even mentioned it which leads me to believe they're taking a wait-and-see-if-there's-any-complaints approach and if not, they'll leave us with the status quo until a competitor does something to blow their speeds away.

....I thought that was funny.

BTW: I am very new to androids and wireless technology in general, but what is HSUPA supposed to do? 4G speeds?

No it's the existing 3G network we currently do not have access to. It will help us "bridge the gap" until the "4G" network and improved backhaul is online.

All it means is we can enjoy the same up and down speeds as everyone else on AT&T.
