Root Most stock ICS Rom?

I am looking for the ROM this is closest to stock ICS for the Spectrum as possible, but with out all the bloatware.

I been in Icy Fusion 3.2 and keep getting odd behavior on my phone that's really starting to bug me (Apps losing connection/freezing. Lost of data connection at times, compass not working/nonstop spinning no matter how I collaborate it).

Now I did have to "dirt flash" this rom on top of another just to get it to boot. So maybe thats a factor, I don't know.

I don't need all the fancy mods that makes the phone faster or whatever, I just want a debloated ICS rom that stable and reliably.

Thanks for the input.

Ummm..

Install stock.
Root
Install Titanium Backup
Uninstall whatever bloat you don't want.

Thats about as close to stock without bloat as you're probably going to get.

Just beware that certain system apps will give you some issues when you try to remove them (softbricks and whatnot)

If you don't mind losing bluetooth, then go Sotard. Otherwise stay on pure stock and rooted without unlocking the bootloader and check the list of apps you can remove without tripping the security checks. Honestly though, CM10.1 will be a much stabler Rom then ICS was mainly due to TDM fixing the random reboots that would happen.

Really it's a no brainer to go to cm10.1, and now even aokp42 possibly (needs further testing before I know for sure but seems sound so far) cm10.1 gives you the latest version of android, looks great, runs smooth, everything works, no reboots, awesome features, etc...I personally can't see any reason to be on stock ics unless you were about to return your phone to verizon. But to each his own I reckon.

Since I'm on Icy Fusion 3.2, do I just boot to cwm, wipe data, flash the two files (cm10.1 and instructions say gapps) then reboot?

Excuse the noobness:

If I manually format my micro sd card, will that effect my phone in some way or another? I assume all system data files are on the phone itself, right?

Regarding CM 10.1.. will I have to do a full wipe for every update?

Just to be clear, its this one right?

You don't need to touch your sd card to install cm10.1 But if you want to format it you can. it won't hurt your phone. You can run android on any phone without even having an sd card installed.

You need to wipe data/factory reset / wipe partition cache / and wide delvik cache then install cm10.1 and then install gapps. Get the 121212 gapps. The older one seems to not work properly.

You do not need to do a full wipe. Anytime you are flashing the same rom (just updated) you don't need to wide everything. I always wipe partition cache and delvik cache though. That doesn't make you lose anything though, it's just suppose to help lessen any issues you might have.

That one will work. But the other one is smoother running. Actually you should try aokp42 because it's running great for me and has more features than any rom out.

Cm10.1 preview is basically like the official CM but has some slight lag to it and I did experience one reboot while running it

CM10.1 beta 4 is tdm's build which has a custom kernel for overclocking and runs really smooth but has a lockscreen delay of about 1 second and some flickering here and there in the animations but I never had any reboots with it in 2 weeks of running it

AOKP42 is basically flawless so far. No lock screen delay, pretty smooth, no bugs that I know of yet. Only issue I've seen so far is it does appear to freeze on certain actions here and there; meaning I press something and it takes a second for it to register. It's probably just our phone or could be just my phone. tdm just released it tonight and it's going to need more testing before we know all the issues it has. For me it's going to be my daily driver for now.

If real life tech support was this fast!!

Thanks. Wish me luck!

Well I need to go to bed so hopefully someone else can help you if needed. I'll find out in 6 hours how things went for you :] I hope you enjoy the new awesomeness you are about to experience.

The only issue I didn't see on that list is the camera app/power button reboot. But, yea, move to the JB kernel it's all that...

That's common to all jb tons in this phone family, so I doubt he saw a reason to list that one as if it was specific to the rom.

One person reported that if your camera app let's you map the power button to a function it will do that instead of rebooting.
