Moto G series 2 music download and play

Have a motorola moto g, series 2, and there does not appear to be a MUSIC folder on the desktop, only a Google play music, which connects you to their store. I have downloaded music from my computer to the phone, but cannot play it. Any help would be appreciated.

Create a folder called MUSIC and put it there
