Help Moto G Water Damage. Need Help.

Newbie
My Moto G got wet because someone pushed me into a pool and I had my phone on my pocket. When I got home I told my brother and he powered it on, it got till the end of the boot animation and then just turned off and wouldn't turn on again. I then proceeded to open up the phone and try to dry it with a hair dryer then tried to power it again, it didn't, just the notification LED turned on (it didn't even blink it was just turned on). I then noticed a sizzling sound on the battery contacts (i reconnected it after drying it) then I saw the contacts where corroded, I cleaned them up as good as I could. Then I tryed to turn it on again, no sizzling this time just the LED was on. I searched on the interwebs and found a thread in the xda developers page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52381877#post52381877
and saw some instructions, by the user ManBearrrPig, on how to turn it back up
("-plug it in the charger
-hold power button 2-3min
-leave it charging for an hour
-unplug it
-hold power button for 30seconds
-it should boot")
I tried them but it didn't work, just the LED again. Now I'm here trying to see if you wonderful people can help me! All help is appreciated. Thanks for reading this!

I thought I read or seen videos the MG could take a dip without much damage to it. I guess it depends how long it was in the water and you probably shouldn't have turned it on so quickly. Good advice from the link Kate gave.
Keep us informed on the outcome.

Yeah, I saw a few videos made by Erica Griffin (I think thats how you write her name) on youtube, maybe my phone wasn't properly sealed or something. The phone was under water for about 15 seconds and had one of those bulky cases on. It could be that the battery went bad, because the device does the same thing with or without the battery (turns the notification LED on) I've yet to check if thats really the problem, I'll write againg when I get to test it. Thanks!
