If I didn't just get laid off at work I'd buy one in a second! The motion is great but the battery is terrible! It has gone dead by the time i get to work, if i listen to streaming music, for example. My girlfriends unlocked att phone has a good signal in our apartment whereas my metro pcs phone has 1 bar, which leads me to believe that gsm can penetrate walls and the hilly georgia terrain better than cdma/lte.

It's a HSPA+21 phone. In areas where T-Mobile has refarmed and rolled out LTE. The signal is *normally* stronger than metros
 
How are speeds compared to LTE?
is LTE that much faster on metro or no?

I was looking at S3 and Nexus 4 but this phone looks a lot better and price is great,
are all versions the same? I see a lot of Boost moto g phones for sale, was thinking about grabbing one of those.

You won't be able to use the Boost Moto G on Metro as it's only a CDMA phone. You'll have to get one directly from Moto or Amazon.
 
So i would have to buy the verizon version or the google play edition? Sorry im a little confused with this phone

The Verizon one is also CDMA only. The Google Play edition ( same as the international version) doesn't have the AWS (1700) frequency that you'd need if you're using T-Mobile in an area that hasn't been re-farmed yet. If you are in one of those areas, then you can use the GPE version. Otherwise you'll want the US GSM (AWS) version. To confuse it further, the GPE will work with at&t.
 
Thank you for the clarification, I also did a little more searching.

I saw on amazon that I can get 8gb for $180 either us or global and 16gb for $200 us or global. for the extra 20 i would get the 16gb

Should I just get the Global one because it has the 1900 frequency that i believe tmobile is going for?? and also just a why not get it if its there thing.
I could be totally wrong about that 1900 frequency comment.

Also i know its based on signal and location but Im getting about 20+ for download on metro 4g how much of a decrease would i notice on the hspa if any?

Also should i be looking into any other phone thats in same budget?

I think that the Global one vs US variant really is a matter of what you think is best for your area and if you will be doing any traveling, either in the States or overseas. For me personally, I could probably get away with buying the international version since I live in the DFW area and it is one of the re-farmed areas. However, I don't (and won't be for the foreseeable future) travel outside the US, and the chances of me going some where in the US that doesn't have the re-farming done are fairly good. I will be getting the US version so that I will have that 1700 freq. Both versions have the 1900 (I believe) freq. It's just the US version that has the 1700 freq.

I was trying to find more comparable phones to this one for the 200 budget but i didnt see any, am i missing any?

I don't think you are missing any. I think the closest you'll get is to buy a used Nexus 4 like Bruce in Ocala did.
 
yeah i was looking into that phone, the one thing that i like about that one is the LTE. Little worried about the speed of the moto on metro pcs/tmobile network

I was thinking the 16gb was going to be an issue on the moto g but i dont see myself filling that up.
 
Ive had it for about a week, US 16Gb. Swapped SIM activated on MPCS to make sure everything was good. Played for a few, and back with my baby Nexus 5. Gonna use it as a toy and oops phone if necessary.
 
I just ordered a Moto G. I have a Metro sim card from my old LG F3. I removed the phone from my account (wife's also on the account). Should I still be able to use the same sim in the Moto G even though that phone was removed from the account? Or will I need to buy a new sim?

I would ask Metro directly but unfortunately the only luck I've had getting questions answered is by going to the store in person and occasionally on their facebook page so I figure I can get a better answer here
