Moto Skip and G2?

Does anyone know if the Motorola Skip will work with the G2? If not out of the box can I buy blank tags and program them with and NFC programmer app? I don't see why this wouldn't work considering in the end it's still just an NFC tag.
Am I wrong in assuming this?

Ill have to check that out. Already have xposed installed so that sounds right up my alley.
My skip should be here today or tomorrow. If it doesn't work for some reason ill just give it to my friend with a moto x.
