Moto X Cases

If I was to add anything to the discussion of using a Defender case... it would be that it does make it a tad bit harder to pull down the status bar and to swype words beginning with the letter "p". This is because the protection goes right up to the visible screen area. Also, because it has a built-in screen protector, it can occasionally cause a double-tap when you first touch the screen (like to swipe the home screen to the side to see the next home screen).

It's not frustrating... just takes a little more conscious effort to press with purpose.

I would have to agree about the Speck Candyshell. It's a real pain in the butt to put on and take off. I'm actually going to return it to Target because I take my phone out to clean it and it's not going to happen with this case. It really does feel like you are going to snap your phone in half or brake your screen. I really did like it, great protection and easy to hold on to the phone. I'm using the Incipio feather which I like, but I think the back of my phone, which is black, is getting discolored by using it. I got the pink case. I think I'm going to order the Otter box Commuter. I've gotten the commuter for all my phones and really like. Just don't want it to bulk up the phone too much.

In my opinion, the Otterbox Commuter is very bulky on this phone. I've used the Verizon bumper "case", the Griffin Reveal, the Commuter, and the Incipio DualPro. I like the Incipio more than the Commuter, but I've been using the Reveal almost exclusively. It's very light, has a lip on the front to lift the display off a surface when you place it face-down, and the volume and power buttons are very easy to press.

When I went to a Verizon Wireless store, they let me try each of the cases that they sell. They should have the Commuter there - I suggest trying it out if you are worried about bulk, if it's easy for you to get to a VZW store.

I did a search on Moto X cases in the forum and was surprised to not find anything. So here we go, I need to get something on this phone. What are your favorite cases for the Moto X, tanks and minimalist? I'm thinking about these two.

There are a lot of little holes in this phone and I don't want something to get covered up.

It depends on what kind of protection you want out of the case. There are basically different types of cases where each has its strengths and weaknesses.

I really like the Greatshield Guardian S (in black). It has all the cut outs nice and precise (even the dimple is cut open to expose it). Its made of quality materials. Fits very snug and tight. Has grips on the sides. Fits like a glove and does not interfere in any way with the use of the phone. Also, looks slick/premium and I think enhances the look of the phone.

However, it does not cover the screen and is not as rugged as some of the other cases out there---but the price for that is bulk. Nevertheless I am really liking the case.

Amazaon and Ebay have it for about $6---amazingly cheap.

I wanted a CLEAR case to show off (not hide) my custom "designed by me" Moto X. This one by Rocketfish was the only decent one that I could find. It's soft/flexible, easy to grip and doesn't cover anything annoying other than the power and volume buttons....
