Help moto x problem please help

I just bought a moto x phone online, it was all good up until I put in my sim card, it is telling to log in with a Google account that was previously synced with the device ,
my question is, how do I bypass this and create a new account?
Thanks
T

FDR the phone, it will then ask you to sign into your Google Account, once you do that, it is all yours.

Which Moto X did you get? Do you know what version of Android it has (Lollipop or Marshmallow)?

A factory reset isn't going to fix your problem, the person who sold it did not sign out of their account correctly/fully so the Factory Reset Protection has kicked in. I suppose you could try to get in touch with the seller but suspect that isn't going to go over well. Oh dear.

A Google search tells me it's possible to bypass it but can be tricky depending on the phone/version.

Thank you for your help, but I think I'm SOL on this, I believe the phone may be stolen or someone lost and the person I bought it from found it and sold it to me. Best part I can't get a hold of the seller, he vanished like a fart in the wind.
Any suggestions??

its clean, I checked several times, its not on any blacklists.
sorry I'm not really a tech guy, how do I find what version of android?
