Moto X Pure Camera Gets High Marks

I still consider phone cameras as secondary since no optical zoom, but as long as the camera is as good as the Note 4- I would be content :)

As I've posted in another thread, my moto has problem with camera apps that allow the user to manually set the ISO. My pics are very nice with auto ISO, but when I try to manually set the ISO, the phone freezes. I've seen this problem on the apps "Camera FV-5" and "DSLR Camera Pro".

I think this is because Motorola didn't include Camera2 API support that provides an interface to individual camera devices connected to an Android device. I'm not sure why it wasn't included but let's hope it's included in a future software update.

Hard to believe Motorola doesn't support this stuff. My old (and retired) Samsung Galaxy S4 didn't have the problem with the camera apps that my new Moto does.

The Camera2 API is a part of Lollipop so Motorola must have good a reason for not including it. Maybe we'll get it in the Marshmallow upgrade or maybe Motorola is waiting for Camera3.

This is my concern as well. My Galaxy Note 3 has a fabulous camera, but Im going to need to replace the phone soon. Seems like The Pure might be a good replacement...
