Moto X Update

[Android Question]

I am interested in purchasing a Moto X to replace my Droid Razr; however, I frequently use FoxFi to launch hot spots. I am with Verizon and have unlimited data. I have researched that FoxFi will not function on the Moto X with 4.4 Kitkat. I see where the phone ships with 4.2.2 which will work with FoxFi. Once I receive my phone, do I have to update to 4.4 or will it give me the option to update later?

Do you have a tethering plan? Regardless of unlimitd data, if you don't pay for tethering, Verizon blocks it.

Otherwise, there are other tethering apps that work with 4.4.
