MotoCare Extended Warranty

After my really bad experience with Verizon and the Lollipop update essentially destroying my Note 3 I was pretty much forced to purchase a phone off plan and at full price in order to finally be able to make and receive phone calls again. Yes,they admitted that the update was to blame. No they did not offer to replace my phone as it was not insured. The long and short of it is that I am now a bit gun shy of updates.
So, my question is, has anyone here purchased the extended warranty or do you think it is a waste of money?

I have never bought an extended warranty, but have had Asurion. When my RAZR Max HD borked for no good reason, it was out of the standard warranty but Asurion replaced it after VZW referred the case to Asurion having certified that there was nothing further VZW could do. And the Asurion coverage includes breakage and loss/theft, so that's a plus. Not sure if this answers your question o_O

It's like insurance: you buy it hoping you'll never need it. But if you need it, it sure is nice to have.

I have Squaretrade warranties on just about all the electronics and appliances in my house, and MotoCare on both our XPEs. Small price to pay for the peace of mind, IMO.

I NEVER buy warranty. MotoCare offers 3 types of warranty:

1. 2 year warranty ($80) - covers damage and mechanical
2. 15 months ($50) - covers damage for 1 year and extra 3 months of mechanical
3. 1 year ($20) - adds 1 additional year for mechanical

I have never dropped or damaged a phone so the $80 option I didn't go for. 15 months, I was tempted to but for 2 phones, that's $100. I opted for the extra 1 year. EVERYONE already has a 1 year manufacturer warranty that expires next year. So if the battery dies or if the screen stops working on its own, Motorola will replace it with a like-new device (same that is offered from carriers). After that 1 year, you have no warranty for any manufacturer defects.

So if the 2nd year of having the phone and the battery craps out, I'm covered. I got this because the battery is not removable, so if there is any issues, I can get it replaced. I have a case on both my phone and my wifes so I'm not afraid of damage. I'm more worried that on the 366 day, the screen doesn't turn on or the battery doesn't hold a charge.
