Help Motocast syncing constantly

Motocast syncing constantly...why do I see a notification that motocast is 'syncing your computers'constantly?

No option to turn it off? The Droid 3 version does not have that problem, but is not integrated with the gallery, like the version on the Razr.

It will stop eventually...took a couple hours on mine...once everything is synched and organized the way the phone wants it to be it will stop synching....or reboot to stop right away but it will start again as soon as you open a motocast type app (music, gallery). It depends on how much stuff you have on your computer as to how long it takes. My experience anyhow...thanks to infamousjax for persuading me to just let it run till its done.

and there is no option to stop the synching...went live chat with motorola a few days ago and they said there was no way to shut it down without the reboot...I thought it was an oversight in the programming until mine stopped synching finally so I guess it doesn't need to have an off switch.

How much data do you have shared with Motocast? I have quite a large music library (about 33,500 songs) and have been hesitant in adding all of them to Motocast due to constant syncing issues.

I have about 3,000 songs, a few movies and about 450 pictures...probably took about 1.5-2 hours in total...after the couple times I forced it to stop with a power-off....you only need to do the big synch once just let it run overnight while plugged in....

I guess I'm a little confused, what exactly is it syncing? i thought it steams the media from my personal pc..not "the cloud" like google music....

I have a ton of music and video listed on the home pc, but what could it be "syncing"

what does it matter how many songs you have on the pc? nothing being transfered to the phone right?

it must write some info to the phone...I am not connected to wifi or data right now so motocast won't work but when I open music it shows all of the items I have synched with a little motocast symbol beside the stuff that is on my computer....so it must save something to the phone although I am not root so I can't see any hidden folders (or I don't know what to look for)

Mine still syncing 3 full days. Only 2000 songs, no movies,

I have no idea what is going on with your synch...mine only took a couple hours....moto does not have a lot of info on the web as far as user guides and troubleshooting and I found their live support pretty useless.....maybe have a look at the settings on your pc and see what folders you have selected for synching...I only have my I-tunes folder

Any one know if there is an option to set a shuffle/playlist to avoid motocast songs? I definitely see the advantage to motocast, but i don't want to waste all my data streaming songs via 4g walking down the street, i'm going to have a set of favorite songs loaded onto the phone itself for those instances and save most of my motocast usage for wifi.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm currently waiting on my phone to arrive so I haven't had a chance to play yet.

Appreciate this is not a good answer, but I simply avoid the app and use Zumocast. I am not a cloud fan (much) so use local tunes and content for the most part.

The Motocast index process is intrusive and tries to go through the motions, even when not accessing remote content. Posted a few times already, but still- I do not like how Motocast has been incorporated/integrated into the media function of the device. Also, I do not use the stock music app, this also helps to stop the sync issues. I use Poweramp, since has some nice audio gain options, but Leplayer is free and IMO is a better app than the stock music app.

The Razr is a great device, but IMO hurt due to the approach to media integration. For me, the music app was so intrusive and battery hogging that I froze it.
