Motorola Atrix or Atrix 2 as GoPhone?

Hello, new to the forums. I've been searching around but haven't found a satisfactory answer to my exact question on Google or on here, so I thought I'd join and post.

I can't afford an AT&T 2 year contract plan, so I want to go with a GoPhone plan. I was wondering if anyone had tried using either the Atrix or the Atrix 2 (both of which I have access to) on the $25 GoPhone plan and purchasing a data package from AT&T.

If anyone has, has it worked, and would you recommend it? I spoke to an AT&T rep and they said that the data for the $50 unlimited wouldn't work, so this would be another possible solution. I really appreciate any answers, thanks!
