Motorola Droid 2 - ugly

I managed to play with this phone yesterday through a friend who has it for testing. I was never a fan of the physical keyboard, but I think they finally got it right. I think the keyboard layout of the current Droid is terrible, but the new one is much easier to type on. I think that'll be the main draw.
The picture above is pretty much dead on to what the actual one looks like, although the keyboard in the picture above seems to protrude upwards a bit more more than the actual. Should be out some time next month. I can't say whether it'll come with 2.2, although the one I played with had it. Can't wait to play w/ it again!

The keyboard is a near-duplicate of the keyboard I had in my original HTC Tilt, and similar to the one in the 8525/TyTn - and those were really usable keyboards. The overall design does seem to be somewhere between MotoDroid and Nexus One, but those are both attractive phones (IMHO).

Yeh, I like the specs on it, and the keyboard. But for some reason they felt the need to extend the plastic into some kind of plasticky looking curved design, I guess to cover up the keys at the bottom of the screen when the phone is closed....but I just don't like it.
Another thing, what's with all these phones changing the order of the buttons from how the Droid had them. i noticed the "back" button is now to the RIGHT of the home button on a lot of phones. I don't care I guess, but I wish they would choose a standard layout and stick with it.
I REAALLY hope they keep the badass sharp industrial look, that curvy lip on that first pic looks crappy. Personally I REALLY want a nexus one, but I think the droid has the best design of any phones out there. Didn't they have ads emphasising the masculine, no b-s design of the droid? why would they change that! personallI think the ultimate phone would be the evo4g's screen on a droid with faster hardware. Thats what the ideal new droid would be, a droid with the same design, but with a bigger screen, a 1+ghz processor, the iphone's screen resolution, 512+ram, and an 8mp camera.
