Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Rumored Specs

I wonder if the talk about it being just a fatter version (to accommodate the bigger battery) of the RAZR will pan out.

It seems like just fatter Razr with massive extended battery. Not the one China got with HD screen, 13MP camera. I wonder how heavy this one is vs very light Razr.

Someone posted this over on the Android Central boards:

DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola Fact Sheet - Fact Sheets - Motorola Mobility, Inc.... 145g for the MAXX... which is roughly 5.1oz... considering this has a 3300mAh battery, I'd say that is pretty good trade off for only a little bit of thickness.

The Gnex is about the same weight as the Maxx.

I've seen rumors of it releasing next week (january 26th) I really hope it does, I want to get my hands on it ASAP.

Same here, can't wait to start seeing some reviews on actual battery life. Even if it makes it to "only" 15 hours of the claimed 21 hours TALK TIME, that's more than my Gnex will make it all day.

Agreed! To be Honest, if I see reports that people are getting 15 hours after very heavy use... I'm getting it!

I have the Nexus and absolutely love it! But the battery life is like every other VZW 4G phone...meaning it suxxx! And these days I just really want a kick ass phone that lasts all day into the evening that doesn't have to be charged until I go to sleep...So yea 15hrs of straight up 4G hardcore use will deff convince me to grab it!

What I'm interested in - and haven't been able to find anything conclusive - but - I suspect that advantage would to to Motorola, is radio strength, and how well the phone goes from 3G->4G, and back. That's the biggest issue I'm having with my Thunderbolt. It sucks battery life (I pretty much don't go anywhere without a charger), and pretty much kills it's usability to stream music while commuting.

Got that right, if you watch a video or stream music for a little while the phone wont last the day or from 7am to 2pm

If it does release this Thursday, test units should be going out to reviewers this week. We should know soon. Also, the fact that Motorola is having a Droid Maxx 24 hour event is a good sign.

Motorola planning 24-hour Droid RAZR Maxx longevity event for February 6th? - Engadget

Seems kind of silly, since too subjective (not all people will use the same way). Simple answer: Current Razr user history times 1.85 ie: If you were getting 4 hours using a good bit of 4G, you will now get 7.4 hours.

Obviously, using the device for 24 hours would be a light overall use, so marketing gimmick. Still, if somebody held out on the Razr, the Maxx seems the logical choice for ANYONE that expects to actually use 4G much.

This maybe a reach, but do you think since I got my Razr on Dec 26th Verizon could work a deal out for me to get the MAXX since it was so close to my upgrade??

yes, the deal is that you pay for full price outside of upgrade time.

There are ALOT of people (me included) in the same boat, but Verizon (in my experience) has not been willing to move much on this issue. Don't have buyers remorse and enjoy the Razr, it is a great phone

It is a great phone and I'll be happy either way. Just unfortunate it was right after my upgrade.

Well I just got a Razr last Sunday 1/22 (gift from son-in-law).

I wonder if big RED will work with me on an exchange for the MAXX... I *think* the exchange policy is still 14 days, yes?

Yes it is. I just did a live chat to see what feedback I got about exchanging mine for a MAXX. They told me I had 14 days (which have passed for me) and I could call customer care for more options.

14 days is usually pretty strictly enforced. If they did not, no one would ever keep a phone and would basically rent phones all year long.

In the case of the Razr, I do think that is a little bit different with basically the same phone with a new battery. They dropped the price of the Razr, removed the 16GB SD card and call it a different model. (I guess technically it is) Let us know if you get a weak customer service rep!
