Motorola Droid Wallpaper

Hey guys, I'm new here. My name is Josh and I'm about a week away from owning my first Android phone: the Motorola Droid. I'm really excited about this device and it's inspired me to create some custom wallpapers for it. You can check out the first design in 3 colors here:

I'll be putting out a few more between now and November 6th so keep an eye open. The images are sized to 854x480 which match the specs for the screen on the Droid.

Hope you enjoy!

do you need to create a wallpaper that will fit across the 3 homescreens in order to have different wallpapers for each screen?

I don't think it's possible to have an different image on each of the Different screens :(

Excellent! (Candy and Blue are my favorites.)

Wow. These are sweet wallpapers. Going to use them when I get my droid aswell. Thanks man and keep up the great work. Nice contribution.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but can you set pix from you take or add to your phone as a wallpaper? Personalization has always been key for me.

These are great looking, but the actual wallpaper size for the Droid is 960(w) x 854(h). You can not set individual images for each of the 3 home screens - it is one continuous image divided across the screens. Reference this thread over at Howard Forums for a detailed description of how it works:

I just discovered that myself. Got my Droid this morning and found that the wallpapers don't fit the screen correctly. I will be updating ALL of my previously posted wallpapers this weekend to conform the to correct dimensions. Stay tuned!

This may seem like a newb question, but I'm having a hard time finding the save picture button. Any help?

Nevermind, for all the rest of the Droid newbs like me, simply tap and hold the image until the option appears.

Thanks Guy's nice wallpaper. I got all of them but, I had to save them in my DCIM folder under camera. Does that sound right? I tried making a wallpaper folder right on the SD card, but my Droid did not see it.

That should be ok. I save all of my images to a separate folder on the memory card called "josh". I made the folder by plugging the droid into my computer with the USB cable. The SD card shows up like an external hard drive. I created a new folder in the root of the SD card and put my images in there. When I went back to the droid home screen, I pressed and held my finger on a blank area of the screen. In the menu that pops up, select "Wallpapers" then "Pictures" and your images should show up in the grid.

I am so lost. I just got my Droid two days ago & i'm still stumped on how to properly fit my pics to the wallpaper correctly. Could someone please give me a step-by-step instruction on how to do this, I am so fed up with the zoomed in wallpapers. Also, how do you manage the gallery? I have two folders with the same pics in them (pics on the SD card & then on the phone) and then there are two more folders (camera pictures & camera media). Plz forgive me for so many questions, I am a new droider.
