Motorola Launches Milestone 2 in Europe

Motorola today launched Milestone 2 smartphone in Europe. This is the same device which has already been launched in the United States as Droid 2. It has a 1GHz process, a 3.7 inch TFT screen, a slide-out key board, and a 5 Megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, image stabilization, and digital zoom. The camera can capture HD (720p) video at a frame rate of 26-30 frames per second. The smartphone is based on the 2.2 Android operating system.
 
After the locked bootloader fiasco and their reluctance to offer support / OS upgrades, I can only imagine they are hoping this will appeal to those who don't already own a Motorola and know the problems.
 
I'm looking forward to it actually. I like the original one, but then i'm not what i would call a power user and i don't really care about the bootloader thing! lol

I love my Milestone too, still want to get something new after some time.

Do you think the 1 Ghz processor in Milestone 2 and 800 Mhz processor in DEFY make much of a difference when it comes to the phone's overall performane??
Whats ur opinion??
I think Milestone 2 will arrive in India, but i doubt DEFY launching here...
Confused.... sort of...

I do not think the CPUs will make much of a difference, you can always overclock if you want or need it.
 
Hello Szadzik,

Amazon Germany announced on their website that the milestone 2 ships today.Nov 9th. amazon.de. 500 euros including VAT.
Now it says Nov 15th.In line with expansys' shipping date
How about a review thread?????????

Not sure this is a very helpful response for most people. Also the OMAP chip in the Milestone is quite considerably more powerful than the one in the Defy.

Hello Karnka,

The Motorola DEFY also uses a TI OMAP processor,I think......
Does the Milestone 2 have a upgraded / improved version of OMAP processor??

Defy has an 800 Mhz 3610
Droid 2 / Milestone 2 has a 1Ghz 3630

The 3630 has a different graphics processor and a few other extras that even if you're not a gamer are going to give the processor itself a little more headroom.

Performance in the Milestone 2 should be significantly better than the Defy.
