Root Motorola Photon Bricked, RSD Lite not working

here's the issue I'm having when I try to flash back to stock:

I rooted phone successfully but didn't want to unlock bootloader because I wanted to keep my 4G... I was ignorant to the fact that you can't flash Cyanogenmod with locked bootloader and tried flashing with bookstrap apk. Phone stuck in
"Failed To Boot 2"

if someone can help me get this fixed I'd be willing to donate to your developing.

Observations:
In the image it shows the phone is in "fastboot" mode. You cannot SBF in "fastboot" mode.
I'm not sure where you got your Cyanogen from but all versions require unlock to flash.
The CM9 thread on xda states unlocked it needed
The CM7 thread on xda does not but I've asked cybik if he could fix that.

Advice- Unless a ROM says "Locked" assume it requires unlock.

Now for the help part of the post;
  1. Uninstall RDS lite and all related files
  2. Go to the Photon Compendium and in section 2 "Root/Unlock/Relock tools and guide" download the 493MB Root-Unlock-Relock Pack
  3. Extract the Root-Unlock-Relock Pack using latest version of 7Zip (7Zip is a must)
  4. Install the RSD lite drivers for your system (32bit OR 64bit)
  5. Do a battery pull and reboot the phone while holding down both "volume up" and "volume down" til you see "Starting RSD protocol support" on the screen.
  6. Connect you phone to your computer and start RSD lite
  7. In RSD lite select the 198_7 SBF located in RSD lite/SBF's folder
  8. Flash away (It may say "failed" on the final "rebooting phone" step but this is a known bug so ignore it)
  9. If your phone fails to boot past the logo screen during the "rebooting phone" phase, disconnect the phone and do a battery pull.

Yes it will if you follow the steps. If any phone is in RSD mode it will NEVER be recognized by adb.

Please follow the steps. I've been deving on the Photon since launch as well as maintaining the Photon Compendium since December of last year so I do have some experience with the Photon.

Yes I've read and picked apart ur treasure Trove of info over on xda since that is the more active community on the photon. Thanks for the info.

Hello all, I recently got the OTA update for the Photon and while it was doing its thing it froze. I left it working for a while hoping that it was just taking long but that did not good. I pulled the battery and then I got the "failed to boot 1" message.

Like DevNewb614 I am pretty much in the same place. My battery died so I made a factory cable but whenever I hold the volume -(down) button it simply turns off. If I hold the volume+(up) it going into "Fastboot Protocol Supportl".

Lokifish you said that in this mode I would not be able to sdf so I followed your instructions but no good has come from it. Same results. Whenever I hold both volume keys it simply goes to "Fastboot Protocol Support". I tried putting the battery back in and I hold down the volume-(down) button it says "Entering NvFlash Recovery Mode" as well as "Battery is too low to flash".

I have yet to have any success getting "Starting RSD protocol support".

Can anyone help me out?

Your Photon froze while installing the 2.3.5 update? Were you rooted before this? If you were running stock 2.3.4 without root or anything else, I would take the phone in to Sprint and avoid the hassle of trying to fix it yourself. A failed update on stock will definitely get you a replacement phone.

I am an idiot and did the same thing...I'm so mad at myself because i should have done more research before trying to flash cm but i got too excited.

I followed your steps and I keep getting sec_exception: b655, eddc, eb

I am stuck and have no idea what to do now...I have gotten it to the point where it tries to boot up but keeps rebooting at the dual core screen. Ive been researching a flashing for like 3 hours trying to unbrick this thing...Any Ideas? Thank you

The Photon Compendium link doesnt work for me. Are there any mirrors?
