Motorola Skip

First, let me say that I am mad I don't get a free skip with my VZW Moto X. I know, I know, but still, I want one for free!!! LOL

For those of you who got skip, how is it working? Is it useful? How about the dots? I wish I could just program my own NFC tags to work as dots.

I really didn't think I'd use it much at all, but I have yet to spend the money to invest in a portable Bluetooth device.

I love the Trusted Bluetooth on my home and work computers then in my car, but my phone will only automatically connect to the car so I would have to manually connect the phone to the computer for it to work.

I have a couple of NFC tags set up to connect my phone to my computers though so that is painless. I've found the Skip to be great use for unlocking my phone to actually use these NFC tags.

The Skip is also great use when I have to use my phone for single tasks when I'm out and about so away from my lock free zones.

Once I got these systems setup I changed my phones lock from an easy pattern/pin to a strong password so I'm much more comfortable with my phones security.

That said, I don't know if I would buy the Skip. I'm having trouble figuring how to secure it to my person, because the fabric of my pants makes it fall off fairly easily despite the magnets whenever it's bumped. The Skip dropped three times since yesterday morning, including once while getting out of my car this morning. I wouldn't want to spend $20 on something I'dlikelylose. I'll see if my phone will recognize one of the dots if I put it in my wallet.

Yeah, I wish my Verizon Moto X came with Skip too. I didn't like to use a lock screen other than normal slide because I loved being able to check my notification panel from the lock screen. Can't do that when it has a password/pin/pattern. So, I am unsure if the Skip would be useful for me, other than the fact my phone would now actually be protected. I really want to just try Skip before I spend $20 on it.

I did get the free skip and skip dots with my Motomaker Moto X. I have not used them much. They are cool and work perfectly, but I have little need for them as generally I don't use a lock screen. Now when I travel I will use them and for free I am not complaining.
:D

Hey
I've got the skip and i love it. I had the problem of where to put it. I wouldn't trust putting it on any thick material. So i bought a phone case with magnetic closer. I attached my skip and works great. The magnets in the skip latch on.

I wrap it around my watch band - it takes just a simple tap to my left wrist to unlock the phone.
