Help Motorola Triumph is running out of internal storage?

Newbie
I have recently started getting a notification on my phone telling me I am running out of internal storage in the phone. When I got this, I deleted a few apps that I don't use and I still get this notification if I download even one app from the Market. I'm wondering if there is anything else that takes up space in my phone besides apps? Also, about 75% of my apps have been transferred to my SD card. Is there anyway I can clear some storage?

yeah it seems another member was having that problem as well.

My guess is that no one stays on the stock rom long enough to notice these problems.

the stock rom is BROKEN.

try CM7 or MIUI, the Triumph is literally the EASIEST phone to mod, no commands from adb, no complicated hassle of downloading android SDKs, none of the stuff you go through with a lot of other phones.

That thread is talking about a lot of related stuff.

What specific features of the phone itself are lost when dealing with roms?
As far as what features a ROM does and doesn't have, they should be listed in the ROM thread itself (and is updated more than me posting something here). You can find links to them here: http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/385385-guide-motorola-triumph-all-things-root-updated-01-13-2012-a.html under the ROMs section.

There's no way I can fix this on the stock rom?

Check the link I posted at the top of my previous post. It discusses the same issue. There are suggestions and possible solutions in that thread.

Flashing a ROM might help, but don't do it if you don't want to.

Recently solved same problem with internal storage. From the root navigate to /data, there will be multiple files beginning with alog*. I had one in particular named alog_events that was over 700MB. I deleted it with no problems.

I used yaffs explorer but other file explorers should work. I deleted about a week ago with no problems. Haven't tried deleting the other alog* files as i had no need after clearing over 700MB+ of internal memory by removing that one file.

hey guys, i also have this same problem. i downloaded ES File Manager to find the alog files that were mentioned in this thread but when i looked inside the data folder, it was completely empty. Got any other suggestions?

How many larger apps do you have installed?

so in a rooted Triumph running MIUI Im not seeing any of these log files. any idea where else they'd be?

That logging info is not enabled in CM7 or MIUI. It would have to be something else causing that issue. Probably best to ask about it in the MIUI thread, or a new post in the All Things Root area.
