move an app to new phone?

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to move an app that is no longer in the market to a new phone if I upgrade. If anyone could help with this ... It's the only thing keeping me from upgrading although my Droid x has been great.

I have done that using Astro File Manager's backup app function. It will back up most app's apk files to your sd card. Then when you get your new phone, download and install Astro from the Market and restore your backup.
