Move Images and Documents to Computer

MNH

Newbie
I have 1.34 GBs of images that I would like to move off of my Samsung S10e cellphone and into my laptop computer. My interaction with Samsung technical support didn't help me. My call was put on hold for 10 minutes as the support person searched for an answer. My call was disconnected and he hasn't called me back. I gave him my cellphone number.
I moved the 4 photo albums out of the Samsung Secure Folder. The only option available to me under the 3 vertical dots (More) is Move to Secure Folder. The support person asked me if I had a Samsung laptop. Is there such a thing? What difference does that make? He didn't even ask me what operating system I'm using. Then he asks me to install Samsung Smart Switch on my cellphone. Done! Then he asks me to install the same on my laptop. Only the mobile version is available at Google Play. He asked me to try to install it. Failed!
All I want to do is move all of my pictures and documents from the Samsung Secure Folder onto my laptop computer, which will also clear up some used memory on my cellphone. Please advise!

use google photos. make sure that sync is turned on and once everything is sync'd you should be able to go to google photos in your browser and be able to look or download your photos from there. no need to hook up anything.

and yes samsung makes laptops

why did smart switch failed. it is what i always use to transfer data from an old phone to a new one. you can even save the backups to the computer.

what happens when you connect the phone to your computer? does your computer recognize the phone?

The phone is connected and recognized. Smart Switch didn't fail; there was no version for my laptop. What's the allowable size limit for Google Photos. I have 1.34 GBs of photos. Thanks for your speedy reply!

Note: Smart Switch lets you transfer content from your old phones to Galaxy devices only. The supported items may change depending on the connected device.

I'm using a Toshiba laptop. Now what?

If you have a large enough capacity microSD card or USB OTG flash drive, you can transfer your data using Smart Switch to back up your old device to the external storage.

Guess I need to go shopping!

Just plug the phone into the computer and allow file transfer on the phone. At that point, the computer sees your phone as just another hard drive. Load up whatever file manager you use and just copy and paste away.

What Trom said above, I do not love the idea of cloud or anything, just plug in your phone's usb cable to your comp and drag and drop.

Another option is Dropbox or other cloud storage. Upload everything and it's not only safe, but accessible from any device. Most of our valuable photos and files are in OneDrive, Google One and Dropbox for redundance.

Indeed, I am still a bit paranoid though of my Cloud accounts on google though.

That's why I don't trust any of them completely... any of them could be hit with a ransomware or DDoS attack. So I back up to Google, OneDrive, Dropbox, AND a 12TB NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive right here in the house. It has two 6TB drives that continuously mirror one another. Everything on the PC, laptop and both phones is stored there. In case of emergency, we can grab one of those drives and have everything. So yeah... I'm a bit paranoid, too
:D

:D Cheers man :)

Check cloud storage for example. I use cloud storage for saving many work files and photo. Recently got interest in shopify quickbooks integration Once you download the app, you can enable this setting so all your Shopify Payments fees and payouts are automatically exported to QuickBooks Online.
