Movie Download HELP!

Does anyone know of an App that you can install on HTC EVO. I downloaded movie that is on my computer to my HTC EVO. I did as explained. Movie cannot be viewed on my EVO. I spoke to HTC customer service. One girl gave me an app that could change the movie download to be compatible to EVO. I did not write it down and I can't find. I called back and got another rep. This one said they cannot give information on 3rd party apps. She was no help.
How do you watch movies on EVO? Any help will be appreciated.

What format is the movie in? I'm gonna assume that it's an .avi and I don't know of the program that can view them, if there is one.

I recommend downloading Handbrake. It is for both Windows and OSX. Use that to convert it to video/mp4. Basically just iPod format. Then your EVO should be able to play it natively, by simply opening up Gallery or Astro File Manager and selecting it from there.

In the future, it may be best to just download your tv shows and movies in "iPod format."

If you use torrents, just add that at the end of the movie and something should pop up. It'll just save you time from converting to mp4.
