Moving apps/data to external SDcard

Hi,

I am new to Android and have just purchased a 7 inch tablet i.e
NATPC M009S RTB ULTIMATE 16GB Capacitive Android tablet PC - Android 4.03 (Ice cream sandwich)

I have also installed a 16GB ext SD card.

I want to start right and keep as much internal storage as possible but there is no option in settings to tell it to install applications or data to the external card.

As an example, I have installed skype, which went straight to internal memory.

If I go to settings\apps, there is an option to 'move to SD card' which appears to work fine. However, when I go to file manager and look at the SD card, it is empty. So it hasn't moved anything.

Can anyone make this any clearer for me.

Thanks

Look in your file manager's settings for something like 'Show hidden folders/files' :)

Folders and files with a "." in front of their names are hidden with Android/Unix.

Hello and welcome aboard. Thanks for joining us here @ Android Forums.

Below are steps on how to move stuff to the sd card on the device.

Go into Settings ---> Applications ---> Manage Applications and wait for this list to be populated with not just the applications but the amount of memory they are using up. Select a larger app and on the next screen if the the app can be moved to the SD card you'll be able to push the Move to SD button. Repeat the process for each app.

Some applications when installed will be saved on the sd card instead of the phone. Here is an application that will allow you to move, edit, delete, etcetera files stored on the sd card: http://cjru.qr.ai

I hope this helps. シ
