Root Moving apps to storage card and performance...

I've noticed that reboots take longer to complete the more apps I have placed in the storage card. Also, there always seems to be an app or two that fail to properly load during startup. It would say that the app is not installed, or the corresponding widget won't work. Is there any remedy to this? Is it perhaps my sd card, would switching from a Class 4 to a Class 10 make it better for example? It's an issue I've come across all my devices at some point, and I've had different cards like 16GB and 32GB, but nothing faster than Class 4, so I'm not sure if it would be that or just the way Android is.

I have an SD card that is class 2. It's not particularly fast. It was fine for how I was using it, until... I moved apps to the SD card. I now find that I'm running into some performance lag, so I'm getting a class 6.

So, I read up on the various SD card classes and based on what I've learned, it's best to have at least a class 4 SD card. Some class 4 cards perform very well, able to achieve speeds similar to a class 6. Class 6 is basically more than sufficient for most applications. A class 10 works appreciably faster than lower classes for writing very large files. But for relatively small files, the speed difference is not significant. As for read speeds, which impacts most on loading applications, class does not matter as much as other factors (brand, model, card size, etc). Class 10 on average is a little faster on reads, but not significantly. So, don't waste money on class 10, unless you have a large smartphone or tablet where you'd frequently transfer movies to your SD card to watch when you're on the go.

I got my class 6 SD card, made by G.Skill. It works well. It's not a slap in the face improvement to my previous SD card, but notable enough especially when transferring large files. When I'd reformatted my SD card and transferred all of the files, it took about 30% less time than it did with my old class 2 SD card.
