Help Moving Apps to the Internal SD

justiyad

Android Enthusiast
I would like to know if there is a way to move apps to the internal SD (the 16 GB part). I'm running Froyo, phone is rooted with z4root.

I looked around and all I can find is moving to an external SD.

erm i thought as a default the apps were saved to the internal storage?

Some apps do install to external SD, and to move them back to internal is pretty easy, go

Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage applications. Select the 'on SD card' tab at the top then select the app you want to move, and under the storage section there's a 'move to phone' button.

I'm sorry I guess I was not clear. I was wondering if there is a way to install apps on the Media Partition of the internal drive. I have a 16GB SGS and there are 2GB for apps and the rest for media and storage.

I was under the impression that the update to froyo removed the cap of 2GB and allows the whole 16GB to be used to installing apps to.

if anyone feels the need to correct me feel free to as im not 100% sure on this one.

I'm on Froyo 2.2 and when I go to SD Card and phone storage here is what I get:
Internal SD Card:
Total Space 13.35
Available space 10.61

Internal phone storage:
Available space 1.51GB

So I'm still on the 2GB cap.
