Help Moving data from one SD card to a new SD Card

Ok, so I got this 32GB SD card from Fry's and I'm ready to use it in my LG M...

I've got a 4GB now and some of the apps are on there too with music and pictures etc.

Just copy all files from the 4GB to the new 32GB?

*EDIT* Do I need to prep the 32GB card in anyway before I use it in my phone?

Is this post for real? Sorry for the sarcasm...but sounds like a no brainer. My only question would be... if its formatted fat32 or fat16.. it can handle the 32GB..but if you need to transfer anything bigger than 4GBs you might wanna partition it.

I don't know what other F/S's android support out the box.

That's why I asked... I can't tell you how many SD cards I've had fckd by moving them from one phone or camera to another...

I have one SD 2GB card that's been used on 3 cameras and moved from 4 phones... Last one had 3 separate thumbnail folders duplicating each image that almost maxed out the SD card.

When they say applications saved on SD card do you mean the external SD card? You are able to move the applications from SD card to phone. Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications.

Also with regard to backup, you can use Astro File Manager to backup all applications it is quite quick but not sure why it would not backup the game called Train Conductor 2.

With regard to moving data from 1 external SD card to another. I attempted this, by copying to PC first and then format the new card since originally gave me an error to copy data across from PC to external_sd. I am also not sure why right-clicking folder and properties revealed 427MB but the folders that I copied across were only 156MB. The phone also showed 427MB used. Perhaps there are hidden files although IO File Explorer on phone only showed an empty folder being .android_secure. ES File Explorer also does not show hidden files.
