Help Moving from a Smasung 3 to a . .?

I truly thought I would buy the 6 or 6 edge today

BUT this article ..made me stop -think-ponder, should I just stay with the 3
& my battery upgrades & rear panel access?

Love the droid platform, but desiring an upgrade

My biggest tech questions are
BATTERY LIFE, I'm gone 12-14 hours a day
& transferring my 3k photos from the old phone 2011 to the new one this month.

If you buy a large storage capacity s6 you should be fine (depending how much media you need to store on it) but if you want an sd card to store your media I'd go for the HTC m9 or LG G4 (which aparently has decent battery life compared to the s6s plus it has swappable battery)
And a bigger display (5.5") if that interests you
