Root Moving from Cm6 to cm7 with a2sd question

So, nuttmeg informed me that when you format your SD card, it will also get rid of the partition on your SD card. So all I have to do to get it back to normal is to format it. I am currently running cm6, and want to run cm7. I was wondering if....

1. Will I need to wipe all of my current apps in the partition if I switch over?

2. Say I dont want a2sd on cm7. Do I flash the latest PlayfulGod version seeing that it has a2sd built in?

3. I tried formatting the sd card on my phone through the phone options. But nothing happened. How do I format the card to get it back to its regular old self, without the partition I mean.

4. Finally. The cm7 wiki says I need to format my sd card once. Do i do this after the first boot? or after flashing the rom but before the first boot?

Thanks. You guys rock

You can run CM7 w/o doing anything else to your SDcard & use the stock APPS2SD that is still a part of the CM7 program. You just won't be able to utilize the benefit of moving the DALVIK CACHE to the SDcard w/DT'S A2SD.

If desired, you can re-format AND partition your SDcard using ROM MANAGER.Just follow the easy to use steps to format & or partition your card.
BEWARE:YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING BY FORMATTING/PARTITIONING so,back up all card data to your computer first & reinstall the data at a later date,if desired.

If I reformat using rom manager, does that erase the partition as well? Just so I know how/ Have the option.

Also whats the advantage of having the dalvik cache moved?

In that thread it says I need linux to remove an already created partition? I wanted to make my partition smaller. It's currently at 512, but I realized I dont need that much. I wanted to also to go cm7. Do i need linux to get rid of the partition?

no, what you can do is go to setting/storage, unmount sdcard and format it there also, might have to do it a couple times, but i will delete the partion, than go to recovery and make a smaller one, i did 256 with 32 swap and all is working fine here.

awesome nuttmeg. TY. Also, cant I just use the steps outlined in the ultimate ascend customization guide? the thread u linked seems a bit complicated. Also whats the advantage to having dalvik cache moved to sd?

the settings/storage format option is not working for me. Does nothing. everything is still on the card once i remount it.
