Help Moving Phones

Willbound

Lurker
Well my Galaxy S4 is getting old and crappy (the ram usage is a constant 1 gig and up, no matter what i do even with ram organizer), so i'm switching to my brother's galaxy s4 because my budget is going towards a pc

Anyway you can move files from phone to phone without them losing their original creation date so they stay in order in the gallery? Even with programs like rich copy and total commander the files when read on my computer display the original date but on the phone it does not and it comes up as new

And why are you worried about RAM? Android is supposed to fill the RAM heavily, that's the idea: "free RAM is wasted RAM". So the phone will cache apps in RAM so they load quicker and use less energy. If it needs the RAM for something else it will clear it itself. Your RAM organiser is probably contributing to lag rather than solving a problem.

(See also many discussions and articles about why "task killers" are a bad idea - it's the same thing with a different name).

Oh yeah didn't notice that RAM thing. Don't worry about RAM. Even Windows works this way now with Superfetch. Free RAM is wasted RAM.

Did you try to copy your files to the SD card and put that card on the other phone?
