I usually recommend trying Recuva first, as that is free.
I had a card failure that Recuva couldn't fix last year (newish Samsung card, MBR corruption) and managed to recover data using Easus. This was a card that wasn't recognised at all in some devices, couldn't swear to what the PC made of it at this remove. I'd recommend trying a trial version of any paid utility to see whether it can get anything at all from the card.
