Help mp3 player issue with delete of album

I'm running 'Music' which came with the xoom honeycomb 3.2, you say there is a better beta version that will allow me to delete an entire album from within the player?

Additional: to run beta 'Music', does that mean the xoom HC3.2 requires Rooting?
