What is it with mp3s? Sometimes when I play a song it sounds fine and other times exactly the same one sounds as if it's being shot down by enemy fire. Why is that and how do I fix it?
Sometimes it's Bluetooth, never headphones. Supposedly they're on sd. Actually, I used the Vanja card reader to transfer them between sd cards, but I have previously had that problem.
Do you know what the bitrates are? MP3's can be anywhere from 16Kb (bad) to 320Kb (near CD quality). The higher the bitrate the better the sound and vice-versa. You can't 'fix' a low bitrate file so it's important to make sure that any MP3's you either acquire or create are at the highest bitrate available.
What Fox Mulder said...
You can't fix bad mp3s so you'll need to get better copies of the bad sounding files. 192 is a bitrate that works well, but keep in mind the higher the quality the bigger the mp3 file....
I use Winamp as my MP3 player on my PC. It shows the bitrate info as it's playing a file. I don't think it's available anymore but I'm sure there are full blown players out there that will display that information. The player on my phone is too basic to show any details.
