MPH overlay for Google maps

Does anyone know of an app that will let you use standard google maps while driving but overlay your actual mph? I have been looking but can find no app that will do that. Thanks to anyone who replies.

As far as I'm aware it's simply not possible at present. It's been discussed on here before and no on has come up with an answer.

There are apps that will show you your speed, but of course you can't use them simultaneously with Google Navigation.

Waze has it but it is not developed as well as Google Maps for the US. In time it may become better as more people use it. I was hoping there was something already out there that would combine the best of both. Hopefully, Google will hear of this and do it themselves.

Thought I'd share an idea...

The only way to do it is to use a dock OR you can trick you phone by making a micro USB dock dongle (619k ohm resistor from pin 4 to ground)

Look at the DIY dock cable thread in the xda forums for more info

That should trick the phone into thinking its in the dock

Of course you can. That's multi-tasking. You could for instance use Google Nav's turn-by-turn voice directions with a GPS speedometer overlayed. AND call your better half, AND run Glympse to let her track your progress in a standard internet browser.
