1) in india mobile number are 10 digits. when i save a contact number say of x as 1234567890 and when i try calling x the pop up shows the above number in continuation as one option and the same number in format 123-456-7890 as another option. so unnecessariy the time is wasted with this extra step.why does this happen and how to overcome this issue
2) a contact for example "ramesh kumar" is saved in my contacts and if i want to edit the name to "rameshkumar"(now the name is same but continuous without space). the editing takes place inside but not externally. that is though when i open the contact to edit the name is show in continuously but the contact is displayed in the same old method when searched. this was an issue i faced even during kitkat version. i do not know if google is aware of this or may b i am missing something. anybody pls help

I know nothing about the second one. Google have been funny about parsing of numbers before: it used to be that if I didn't put my own hyphens in it would automatically impose a US-style spacing as you describe, but I've not had that for several years now. But I've never seen a pop-up like you describe. What if you put your own spacing in (i.e. separate the region/city code from the number with a space or "-")? Does that resolve it?

thnx fr ur reply hadron. actually today i opened several contacts and checked. google actually stores all the number with hyphens irrespective of whichever format we store the contact as u described. so the same situation continues. the issue i raised pertains to only few numbers i understand buy why i was not able to establish. one number which particularly behaved as described by me i have manually deleted one option so now when i call that number the number is dialled directly without popping and giving two options. in due course if i observe another contact beha ving as i explained i shall revert to u.
