MSN messenger questions

Currently I have MSN talk on my htc evo. The problem is that when I turn off the screen the messenger will sometimes disconnect. Is there anyway to prevent it from disconnecting or is there an app that stays on always?

I tried many msn apps, each had a problem.
I think the best is NIMBUZZ, doesn't disconnect unless the connection is lost, reconnects alone when 2G/3G or wifi is back, got notification settings, connects to GTalk, MSN, Yahoo, Facebook, MySpace & ICQ
One thing i realized using JuicePlotter is that all the msn apps use lots of battery, including Nimbuzz, even if the screen is off, and not chatting. They consume more than the GTalk app provided by Google

There's no option to keep MSNTalk constantly connected with 3G but there's an option for WIFI
In MSNTalk -> Setting ->connectivity -> check off Keep Wi-Fi: This keep Wifi even in sleeping.

There's an 'Automatic reconnect' option that auto connect when connection drops...which is the best the app has to offer.
