MTK6513 Help

My dad sent me an MTK6513 tablet for Christmas. It was working fine but I hardly ever used it. So it surprised me when the touchscreen stopped working. I am wondering if there is an easy or not-so-challenging fix for the tablet.

I'd also be willing to try a different ROM for the device if anyone has programmed one.

I believe this is a Chinese after-market tablet that is also capable of phone service if that is of any help.

If the touch-screen has packed-in, that's almost certainly a hardware defect. Fairly common problem with budget off-brand tablets. Best bet would be to get an RMA, and return it for a refund or replacement.
