MTP Issue

Hi All,

I have a Samsung Galaxy model SPH-L710. Yesterday, my phone stopped connecting to my computer. Usually when I connect it via USB the MTP initialization starts. Now MTP won
 
USB cables have been known to just go bad. I've seen a number of similar complaints where that was the cause. No guarantees, but you might check that out.
 
I thought so too. The only problem is that it connects my S2 and Evo like clockwork or does this not matter?

If it's good with your other phones, the cable must be ok.

Can you pull down your notification bar while plugged in and change from charge only to a media mode? That varies by model, so I can't describe that precisely.
 
Thanks. I think I am going to reinstall JB4.1.1. I think a complete restore should fix it or just find another way to transfer data. I am still open to other suggestions/fixes.
