Help Mtp ok, ptp nok

Hello

The Cyanogenmod Windows installer requires switching from MTP to PTP.

While Windows7 was happy with MTP, it doesn't like the "Universal Naked Driver":
Windows could not find driver software for your device

Does someone know where a working Windows 7 PTP driver can be found for the Galaxy Nexus?

Thank you.

FWIW, the Nexus Root Toolkit managed to clean up the host and install the Universal Naked Driver successfully.

Edit:
A couple of other things to try:
Try another USB port
Try another USB cable, even if the one you're using seems to work fine on another host.

This looks like black magic :-)

This should also work:

The difference between the MTP and PTP connections are in how your computer recognizes the Nexus 7. If you’ve set the USB connection to MTP, the computer is fooled into thinking that the Nexus 7 is a portable media player. For the PTP connection, the PC believes the tablet to be a digital camera.

Determining whether the Nexus 7 uses the MTP or PTP connection is done by following these steps:

1. At the Home screen, touch the All Apps button.

2. Open the Settings app.

3. Choose Storage.

4. Touch the Menu icon button, and then choose the command USB Computer Connection.

5. The two options are MTP and PTP.

6. Ensure that there’s a check mark by the Digital Device (PTP) option.

7. Touch the Home navigation button to return to the Home screen.

Thanks for the info. PTP worked but MTP wouldn't.

The problem went away after using another USB cable, which caused Windows to install the right drivers in Device Manager.

Good to see you got the problem solved. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
