Multi core? Dual core? single core?

MiAzul

Lurker
So for two days I've been researching cheap knock-off tablets and am very confused. My last android was easy After I rooted it I had zero problems after that. Lasted two years until my toddler finally did it in.

I don't need much, just casual games, a little netflix, light web browsing, some e-reading. Nothing that requires anything fantastic.

Anyway, I came across a neat little pre-rooted tablet for less than $90 with very positive reviews. It's advertised as multi-core. I suspect that's not right (not that it matters too much to me, but I like to learn things), but maybe it is. Anyway, here's part of the specs:

Processor: A10 1.2GHz Multi Core
PMU (Power Management system ): AXP209
GPU ( 3D Graph Engine): Mali-400 GPU @350MHZ
Capacity:
Memory: 512 MB DDR3
Storage: 8GB NAND FLASH

Do those sound right? What's Multi-core mean? Does this seem like enough power for what I'll use it for? Thanks in advance!

my guess.. main CPU + GPU = multi-core. = incorrect.

but with only 512mb of RAM..
i would not want this device..

It's been hard to find a model that fits exactly in my low price point (under $85 on Amazon, using a gift card). There are just a couple models just above price range with more RAM, and unfortunately they were lacking in other areas.

I guess I was hoping 512 would be adequate for my limited uses I listed above.. Maybe not?

My friend has a tablet branded by "AINOL", with dual core and a decent GPU and I think 512MB RAM costing around $90-100. Maybe you can look for something with that brand.

Thanks for the advice. I actually just purchased an Ainol Novo7 Legend. Not super fantastic specs, but good enough for the price and from what I've read, a decent company. :)
