Root Multi-Rom Installed Ubuntu (stable) saucy Anyone?

DimBulb

Android Enthusiast
Have the 2012 WiFi only Nexus7 running 3 Rom's, using Multi-Rom. JellyBean/KitKat/Umbutu.

I'm wondering what other's might be experiencing if they have Multi-Rom installed, (multi boot capable) and Multi-Rom Manager app. in their KitKat.

And who have used the manager to downloaded, (over 300 MB I think all components) and installed Umbutu (saucy) "Stable" and have booted into this ROM?

My experience, has been that it seems a very feature rich environment, really interesting to someone used to Android, but also certainly sort of "alien" compared to Android, (in that swiping from various side's, top and bottom, bring up assorted menu's, as apposed to touching) .

It can grow on you for sure.

Yet, unfortunately my very limited (so far) experience, is proving to be highly erratic.

Force Close is happening often. Google sign-in, Force close.

Camera, (a number of other apps too) simply go nowhere, black screen, (back lit) and need a re-boot to recover.

I wonder what basic additional setup I might be overlooking or need to enable in the Multi-Rom Manager, or in the setting's for the Umbutu environment itself?

Any one have experience to help or share?

Thanks.

I give it a shot every now and then, as you already noted it can be extremely buggy at times.

Trusty is the developer release, it is updated more frequently so you will see new features and dfixes in it first but may occasionally totally flake out on you where you have to temporarily roll back a version.

Now, I wish I'd have known that. I went with stable, because, well it sounded, ... stable.

Umbutu? Did you mean Ubuntu?

You say Ubuntu, I say Umbutu :).

And, yes sometimes the (mental) desk is littered with so much information, I can't find what I mean, so I go with what I think I mean.
